Flight 93 Crash Site

United Airlines Flight 93, a Boeing 757 was one of four hijacked planes on September 11, 2001 as part of terrorist attacks on New York City and Pentagon in Washington D.C. It did not reach its terrorist target crashing near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

May 2006

There is no permanent memorial in honor of Flight 93 passengers yet. The temporary memorial located is about 200 yards from the actual crash site. It is a place adorned with flowers, letters, and flags of all sizes left by many visitors.

The area where hijacked plane crashed on September 11, 2001 at 10:03 has been recognized as a place of national remembrance. A monument is erected here in memory of the 40 passengers and crew members. The most engaging is a wall set in the direction of a flight. There are names of all the victims engraved in white marble. The exact site of the crash is clearly visible but not accessible to the public. The access to that part of the monument is allowed only the victims' families.
